Editor Basics¶
TongueToQuill has two editing modes. You can switch between them at any time.
Visual Mode (Default)¶
A rich text editor — what you see is close to what you get. Format text with the toolbar or use markdown shortcuts (type **bold** and it converts automatically).
The metadata widget sits above the editor as a collapsible panel. It shows your template's fields as a form. Click the header to expand or collapse it.
Placeholders¶
Templates can include placeholders that look like {:RECIPIENT NAME:}. Click one to select it, then type to replace it with your content. A floating navigator in the corner tracks your progress through all unfilled fields.
Advanced Mode¶
Raw markdown editing with syntax highlighting, for users who prefer full control. Toggle it in the editor settings.
In Advanced Mode, the metadata wizard opens as a modal dialog instead of an inline widget.
